It's not often I get to show my tough side - generally I'm a joyful, forgiving, and pretty amicable person. But as I've gotten older I've slowly learned how to protect my feelings and my emotional well being. When I can clearly communicate my feelings of anger or disagreement, I'm reminded of situations I've dealt with in the past that were emotionally tumultuous that I gracefully accepted without putting up a fight. This new bite to my attitude is something I want to explore. I want to make a photograph that portrays my emotional guard being up, but also the gentleness that's behind it.
